About The Owners
Michael Bernardo's passion for cooking was sparked at an early age. As a young boy he spent much of his time assisting his parents in their catering b
usiness. From them he learned that food should be prepared with care and love, and to feed everyone like they are a part of your family.
His interest in cooking continued through high school and in 2001 he graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. During his time at the CIA he worked on an externship at the Depuy Canal House in High Falls, NY. After graduation he was hired as a sous chef and eventually became executive chef. It was at the Canal House that Michael met his wife Amanda.

In 2007 Michael took a job as the executive chef at Oriole 9 in Woodstock, NY. During this time he was able to further refine his culinary skills and begin to fully articulate his personal style of cuisine. Michael has a passion for incorporating the freshest local ingredients from purveyors who share his passion for great simple food. He and Amanda strive to provide an experience that allows the culinary wealth of the Hudson valley to shine in every dish. They believe in creating a unique dining experience while treating every customer like a member of their family.
